YouTube within the past year has become a way for ordinary people like you and me to become instantly famous. We have the ability to post videos of ourselves dancing, singing, or just ranting about things and it can lead to great exposure worldwide. The Janoskians, one of the newest YouTube sensations, were lucky enough to get this exposure.
Now, you’re probably saying to yourself, who are the Janoskians? It’d make sense that you don’t know who they are because they’re all the way from Melbourne, Australia. Their fan base there is huge right now, and they’re starting to become hugely popular in countries like the UK and New Zealand. With over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube and almost 20 million video views, these 5 boys are bound to become widely known in America soon.
The Janoskians consist of Beau Brooks, Jai Brooks, Luke Brooks, James Yammouni, and Daniel Sahyounie. Beau, Jai, and Luke, if you didn’t already guess it, are brothers. Jai and Luke are both 17 and twins, while their older brother Beau is 20. Also, James is 16 and Daniel is 18.
Their videos have attracted lots of attention. One of their most popular is Awkward Train Situations, where they go onto a moving train and sing, dance, disrupt people, and just basically act like idiots in public. They made a response to Ellen’s Dance Dare request and danced behind people in the mall without them knowing. In their video Make Them Move, the boys do awkward things in public to people who are sitting on benches to see if they can get them to leave. As you can see, their forte is most definitely pranking people, but they have popped out a few spoof videos, like The Day in the Life of a Dysfunctional Family and a Man vs. Wild spoof.
The Janoskians have not only gained fame through their YouTube videos but through Twitter and Facebook as well. On twitter, they’ve gained thousands of followers on each of their personal accounts and even managed to get themselves trending worldwide. On Facebook their fan page also has thousands of likes. Even celebrities have picked up on these boys. Ellen DeGeneres featured the Janoskians Dance Dare video in her montage of Dance Dares for her show. Liam Payne from One Direction watched the Janoskians invisible rope video via twitcam and videos of him watching it have popped up everywhere.
For now the Janoskians may not be well known here in America, but soon enough you’ll be hearing their name and videos everywhere you go. To find them online, check out their website at http://janoskians.businesscatalyst.com/ or their YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/Janoskians !
