New Advisory Period
September 7, 2016
On Wednesday, September 7, Mr. Lanczycki announced that Somerset-Berkley Regional High School will introduce an Advisory Period on the second Thursday of every month, starting in October. Each homeroom will have two staff members as advisers. The period is designed to give students an outlet to open up to other individuals as well as learn life skills, like writing checks and managing finances. Advisory periods will include presentations, conversations, and self-reflection through journal entries, which will not be read. The journals serve the sole purpose of helping students to express their feelings. Students will not receive a grade for the class, but rather focus on continuing to fulfill Somerset-Berkley’s core values and beliefs.
