Hello students of SBRHS, we are one month into school, let’s introduce the Sophomore Student Council President, Lyla Seney. Lyla is funny, energetic, social, and really kind. Currently this year she is part of the volleyball team as well as Girl up with Ms. Burgmeyer. Although we have met only once through this interview I can tell you that Lyla is passionate about being president, she is kind, respectful, and positive. She is someone who wants to bring change to her community and she is taking the first step by joining a student body that is there to make change. I am excited to see what she will bring to the student council this year and I wish Lyla all the best as she embarks on this new journey.
Why did you choose to join the Student Council and run for president?
I chose to join the Student Council and run for president because our school is not perfect, it has a few flaws and issues that students have been discussing and I wish to make changes and take action to make the school a better place for our students and staff.
What are some goals you hope to accomplish this school year?
This year I hope to have more participants in the Raider Rally to really spread the joy and pride of our grade. I also wish to plan new fun activities that sophomores can complete together and to further connect the sophomores.
What traits do you have that assists you to be a good leader?
Some traits I have that assists me to be a good leader include being responsible, outspoken, respectful, optimistic, and very determined.
Any interests and hobbies that you have outside of school?
Currently I am in competitive dance, I love singing and used to sing in middle school plays.
