Kori Tickel is a senior here at SBRHS who is also a star volleyball player. Kori has played volleyball on the school team for all four years. She has been the MVP many times this season leading to many wins for the Raiders. Let’s get a little senior spotlight on Kori and hear about her experience with volleyball.
What is your opinion on the sport and what sparked your interest into doing volleyball?
I love the sport of volleyball. It’s my favorite. What sparked my interest was me and my dad playing in the backyard when I was a kid and also doing volleyball clinics.
What is your favorite position to play and what position are you currently playing?
My favorite position to play is the libero and I am currently playing libero. I played as a DS my freshman and sophomore year and libero my junior and senior year.
Describe your volleyball experience so far
It’s been really fun. It’s been a good four years. The season is almost over and I’m really sad about it. I played club all four years too and I just had the time of my life.
How long have you been playing volleyball for?
In total I have been playing volleyball for about eight years.
What do you think is the most important part about playing the sport?
Teamwork, communication, and positivity because that leads to the success of the team.
Are you planning on playing volleyball in college or after high school?
Yes, I do want to play volleyball in college.
