Emily Carr is one of our senior field hockey players here at SBRHS. Field hockey has had great success this season. They were 18-2 and ended up winning the state championship! It’s incredible seeing everyone’s hard work pay off. I’ve done lacrosse with Emily and she is a great athlete and I’m so proud of her. The fall sports season is slowly coming to an end and every single sport has been absolutely crushing it. How many years have you been playing field hockey for?
I have been playing field hockey for 7 years.
What is your favorite thing about field hockey?
My favorite thing about field hockey is the bonds that I make with my teammates and coaches, that I will never forget.
What are your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the sport?
My strengths are having good sportsmanship and a positive attitude that reflects on my teammates. My weaknesses are my mental blocks that are hard to overcome because of confidence.
What do you do to prepare yourself before a big game?
To prepare myself before a big game, me and my friend usually follow the superstition of making the same tik tok in the same place, because we think that it is good luck, and it clearly helped because we won the state championship after making it!
What do you think are the three most important qualities that an athlete should have?
I think the 3 most important qualities an athlete should have are motivation, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude.
Do you plan on playing field hockey in college, if not what do you plan on majoring in?
I may play field hockey in college, but I’m undecided. I plan on majoring in exercise science!
