On Wednesday, December 18th, Somerset Berkley Regional High School played a season opener hockey game against Diman Reg Voc/Tech High School at the Driscoll Arena. It was an amazing game and the score was 6-2! Somerset Berkley played really well and it was the first prenda game. Evan Barbosa had a hat trick and scored 3 goals. Adam Bastis, Brett Axon, and Nate Melo each scored one goal. There were 3 assists from both Adam Bastis and Aaron Preston. Evan Barbosa, Brett Axon, Nate Melo, Mason Sullivan, and Cameron McKenna also had an assist throughout the game. It was a great victory and Gavin Rodrigues was given the game puck for his first win and the hard hat was handed to Evan barbosa for the incredible hat trick. On Saturday, December 21st, Somerset Berkley had a game against Taunton High School and unfortunately lost a close game to them with a score of 1-2. But the Raider’s bounced back with another win against Plymouth North High School today. The score was 6-3 and the puck squad really showed their talent out there. Goals were scored by Mason Sullivan, Cameron McKenna, Evan Barbosa, Brett Axon, Nate Melo, and Liam Blenkush. There were also assists from Mason Sullivan, Evan Barbosa, Nate Melo, and Adam Bastis. Congratulations to the hockey team, they are back again and they are on a roll. The next hockey game is against Bourne High School on January 4th. Make sure to stop by and support the hockey team, the energy in the crowd is what drives the game. So BE THERE or BE THERE.
