String Festival Phenomenon

On Wednesday the 11th, all strings players from Somerset attended a large performance at the high school. To start off the night, parking was quite limited due to the mass snowfall.  Eventually, all the parents, grandparents, and guardians filed into the brand new million dollar auditorium, which was extremely limited on space, and took their seats, if they had any.  Finally, the music began, and quickly children recognized their families and the smiles shined on their faces. After all the hard work and dedication, they finally got to show off their skill.  Suddenly the lights dimmed and the bows moved back and forth at quite an amazing pace. Each grade played, and the music carried on right until the conductor signaled for silence.  After a bit of time, sweatshirts started being taken off due to the intense humidity (which probably should not have happened because of the whole magic climate control conspiracy) and new kids kept appearing on stage.  To top things off and to keep the tradition going, during the playing there were many baby cries and the occasional premature clap, but it’s all in good health. All in all, the strings festival was once again a great success.
