“A Stitch in Time”: A Television Show Review
January 18, 2017
The show Stitchers is about a girl named Kirsten who has above-average intelligence but is socially inept. She does not understand feelings and has low EQ (Emotional Quotient). She is socially inept because she has a mental condition that makes time distorted in her head. Kirsten is special because she has an ability like no other, which gets her recruited into a top-secret government program. At first, Kirsten does not want to have anything to do with this top-secret organization.
The first episode of Stitchers takes off with Kirsten living her everyday life. Kirsten and her roommate Camille have a rivalry. Camille is also very intelligent and gets Kirsten expelled from the university they both attend. Kirsten’s story starts with the death of her adoptive father. Kirsten sparks Detective Fisher’s curiosity, because normally a person would be devastated at the news their father died, but Kirsten’s response is a blank look. Kirsten does not think his death was a suicide; she thinks he was murdered.
Then Kirsten gets dragged to the private base where the secret program is located, in which she finds out the secrets behind mysterious deaths. Kirsten will get hooked up to a machine that is attached to a deceased person. Her subconscious will enter the deceased person’s subconscious, then she enters their mind and views their memories to find out how they died. Kirsten is the only one that has the ability to do this. She will not get bombarded by the emotions hit at her. She is so smart that she can find basic clues in these memories that others overlook. Also, her friend Cameron is the only person who can run the machine. He will protect Kirsten no matter the cost and is fiercely loyal to his friends.
I love this show because I love mysteries. Any shows that have anything to do with mysteries are up my alley. If you love mysteries too, I strongly recommend this show. It is nearly as good as Sherlock. The characters will grab you by the arm and drag you along for a journey.
The characters are not only quirky, but they are also hilarious. Each character brings something to the table that makes it even better. I strongly recommend you check out this show. If you want to know more about the amazing characters of this show, go check it out either on the Freeform App or the channel Freeform on television. Freeform was previously known as the television network ABC Family. The app is free and it does not cost anything to watch the show. Season 3 will be coming out soon so don’t worry about starting a show that leaves you at a cliffhanger and does not continue.
